COSTUME DESIGN

ELIZABETH EMANUEL

Since designing the wedding dress of the century for HRH The Princess of Wales, Elizabeth Emanuel has broken away from the image to expand her talents into the sphere of costume design, both period and modern, for film and theatre both in the UK and America.

Elizabeth designed the costumes of Beatrice Joanna and Isabella in the Changeling. She has also provided costumes for 'Temptation' staring Angela Doody. More recent work includes the costumes for 'Frankenstein, the Modern Prometheus' first performed at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden by the Royal Ballet and subsequently at La Scala in Milan and currently by the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam.

Film work included costume design for the movie 'Diamond Skulls', starring Amanda Donohue as well as Bianca Jagger's costumes for 'The Cannonball Run'; Sigourney Weaver's in 'Moon Street'; 'Invitation to the Wedding' starring John Gielgud and Ralph Richardson and 'Winds of War' costumes for Jane Seymore. Her promotional Activities encompass dressing Betty Boo, Helen Mirren, Kate Vernon and the clothes in Enya's latest video 'The Celts'. She was commissioned by Elizabeth Taylor to do her wardrobe for the promotion of her 'White Diamond' perfume and by Joan Collins to design her entire wardrobe for the much publicised launch of her book 'Prime Time'. At Richard Branson's request Elizabeth has designed the complete range of Virgin Airways range of uniforms, luggage and accessories.

Amongst her other credits she has created the costumes for Lloyd Webber's musical 'Song and Dance', the pantomime 'Cinderella' at the London Palladium and Robert Noryth's 'Fabrications' by the London Contemporary Dance Theatre.

She maintains a glittering list of clientele on both sides of the Atlantic which includes Pamela Stephenson, Jenny Seagrove, Bianca Jagger, Jane Seymour, Patsy Kensit, Helena Bonham-Carter, Jerry Hall, Joan Collins, Shakira Caine and Elizabeth Taylor.
